Riding on a motorcycle, scooter, or moped is a popular activity when travelling, particularly in South East Asia. TINZ travel insurance covers you to drive any engine class that you are licensed to drive in New Zealand, including scooters and mopeds (50cc or less). You're also covered to be a passenger of a person who has a motorcycle licence valid for the country you're travelling in.
Prevention is better than treatment, so keep yourself safe - always wear a helmet, follow local laws, and be aware that no claims will be paid if you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs, except those prescribed by and taken in accordance to a medical adviser's instructions.
If you are riding a motorcycle, exclusions also apply for personal liability, accidental death or permanent disability benefit claims.
