What's a dependant? That's your child or grandchild who under 19, not engaged in full-time work, and is travelling with you for 100% of the trip.
Are you bringing a niece or nephew, or is your child bringing a friend on the trip? Is your 17-year-old spending half the trip somewhere else? You can list them on the same policy - which is super helpful if they have is a medical event and an adult needs to stay behind - but they are not considered a dependant.
