We define a “drone” as an unmanned aerial vehicle. Our travel insurance policies specifically exclude coverage for drones. This means there is no cover for personal liability, should you find yourself being responsible for causing bodily injury as a result of operating your drone.
Causing property damage if you accidentally flew your drone into the side of a building is also excluded from cover.
We understand that some drones are worth a lot of money, and you may wonder if our High Value Items add-on would be suitable. Unfortunately, due to drones being a general exclusion across all our policy plans, we won’t be able to offer cover for your pricey drone regardless if you decide to list it as a High Value Item.
However, our High Value Items add-on would be available for you to increase the coverage level from the standard $3,000 to $5,000 for cameras, camera lenses, tripods, video cameras.
Just simply specify the individual items and the amount you wish to cover them for. Bear in mind that if you make a claim for a High Value item, you must provide us with purchase receipts for the items claimed. Furthermore, no depreciation will be applied to High Value items specified.
