Dependants are defined by TINZ as your children or grandchildren, not in full time employment, who are under the age of 19 and travelling with you for 100% of the journey. Before proceeding, please confirm that all travellers under 19 are dependants of the adult travellers. If the child is not classified under the above terms then please treat them as an adult traveller within this policy.

The Already Overseas plan is appropriate for New Zealand residents who are already overseas and need travel insurance cover because they have either forgotten to purchase before they left New Zealand or, their existing travel insurance policy has expired.

Please read our conditions of purchase carefully. We can only provide cover provided that you satisfy the following conditions at the time of purchase:

You are aged 64 or under; and

You have a permanent residential address in New Zealand and will be returning to resume residence in New Zealand at the end of your journey; and

You intend to return to New Zealand on the date your policy ends; and

You purchase your policy within 30 days from either the date you departed New Zealand; or the expiry of any other travel insurance policy; and

Your period of overseas travel does not exceed 18 consecutive months in total from the date you originally departed New Zealand;

Please note:

For this plan “journey” means the time from when the policy is issued while you are overseas and ends when you arrive at any immigration counter in New Zealand.

Journeys can be up to a maximum of 90 days.

Purchasing an Already Overseas policy is limited to one journey every 12 months.

There is no cover provided for the first 72 hours from the start date of your certificate of insurance.

Insurance for domestic travel

Easy to set up and, happily, didn't need to make a claim. We use this service on all our trips that involve external transport providers, accommodation etc. Very reassuring!

Very good online Travel Insurance. Easy to understand,clear language & many pre-existing medical issues are covered.

Clean, green super machine!

Was the simplest sign up payment and service! Everything is over email so no need to waste paper printing the docs, also this was the cheapest travel insurance with all the benefits of other providers, I did not have to claim so cant comment on that

very easy insurance

Great insurance company, easy to deal with. We didn't have a claim this time, but have in the past and it was no problem. Will keep using TINZ as we have had no problems at all.

Thank you for settling my claim with the hospital directly

I had to claim medical costs while in the US. I was so relieved that TINZ paid the bill directly without me having to carry the cost.

Also the claims process was so easy and quick.

Everyone I dealt with was so helpful and friendly.

The whole experience of dealing with TINZ was great - and a huge relief as getting big medical bill is very scary.

Wouldn’t use anyone else

I use TINZ every time I travel, no matter the destination. I have not yet had to make a claim and I hope if I ever do the service is as good as the rest

No claims again so no problems

We had no problems from the time we took out the Insurance but as again we didn't have a claim there was no reason to have a problem.

Wortheless insurance-prepare to pay yourself

When called for assistance, I was pretty much told that I could do whatever I wanted but I would be told whether I would have any pay off only once I would have engaged money myself. With no guarantee whatsoever. Will not use again.

Total Scam

Claim to cover cancellations, delays and alternative arrangements but Policy terms and conditions rule out all common or likely causes of these
Other terms also rule out most likely events that could result in a claim Not really travel insurance, just a money making scheme

Good to have TINZ even though there was no need to claim

Your TINZ cover was a security for our cruise round NZ and it was hassle free to make application for such. It met our budget as 'oldies' and will recommend it to our family and friends

Amazing travel insurance conpany

I always choose TINZ when I travel overseas. I was accidently sick and admitted in ED when I traveled a country a couple of years ago. TINZ was very helpful and I was treated well by medical team and claim was easy and quick. I feel safe when I travel everywhere with TINZ.

Application was very easy to file on line

Have used TINZ twice now and both times the experience of choosing the correct policy was easy and foolproof. In my case the cost of the policy was lower than for other well known companies whilst the benefits were similar or better.

Excellent travel insurance

I had travel to USA, Australia and Japan. All covered by TINZ policy. Made travel planning so easy. All existing illnesses etc covered and documented which made a huge difference for peace of mind. Didn't need to make a claim so can't comment on that.
